Harris Files Complaint Against Missouri Bar; Claims Misuse of Dues

James Harris, director of the non-profit Better Courts for Missouri, filed a complaint with the Missouri Ethics Commission today against the Missouri Bar for what he says are “their misuse of dues.” Harris’ complaint states that the Mo Bar has failed under state law to disclose their political expenditures opposing judicial reform – expenditures to political consultants, which include former Dick Gephardt consultant Joyce Aboussie. The complaint also alleges the bar paid for polling and issue ads promoting the MO Plan.
