Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt severed all political ties with a southwest Missouri developer and campaign contributor after he received a blatant letter requesting “loyalty” in approving the developer’s projects.
Sam Hamra, who is also a licensed attorney, wrote a letter to Blunt dated Dec. 11, 2006, in which he details his disappointment in the lack of funding for three specific projects.
Blunt’s chief of staff, Ed Martin, said that the letter arrived to the governor just before the Missouri Housing Development Commission’s awards for tax credits were made. Blunt is a member of the commission, which approves developers’ projects. Read more…
