Fresh off his groundbreaking proposal to ban over the counter baking soda sales, Rep. El-Amin’s next knee jerk stupid idea is to have the governor deploy national guard troops in his district. El-Amin and his supporters are already critical of the local police. They often throw out allegations of police brutality and harassment whenever there is a high profile arrest of an African American.
Now if El-Amin has problems with the local police not caring about the residents, imagine the problems when a rural, white national guardsman is patrolling the ‘hood. How ironic that El-Amin advocates for local control of the police department, but he wants the governor to send in troops to do the police’s job. Instead of suggesting such a ludicrous idea, El-Amin should be addressing the reasons WHY crime is out of control in his district. By the way, we’re not talking about ineffective policing here.

How many gunshots in your hood last night… How many crackheads begged you for some change? Oh, none, huh? I’m amazed. Please enlighten me on why crime is so high in these areas, you seem to think you have a full understanding.
