Missouri Republican Representatives Todd Akin, (R-MO-2) and Sam Graves (R-MO-6) have cosponsored the House version of the Consumer Rental Purchase Agreement Act of 2007 (H.R. 1767).
Seven of Missouri’s nine Representatives now cosponsor the Act including the bills primary sponsor, Democrat William Lacy Clay.
The addition of Akin and Graves brings the total number of US Representatives in the 110th Congress supporting federal legislation regulating the rent to own industry to 64.
Akin serves on three committees: Armed Services, Science and Technology and Small Business. As a Member of Congress, Akin says he is committed to promoting the principles of our Founders, the free enterprise system and the traditional values of the American family.
Akin recently received a 95% ranking from the Americans for Tax Reform, and 100% rankings from the Small Business Survival Committee, American Conservative Union and the Family Research Council.
Congressman Sam Graves serves on the Agriculture, Small Business, and Transportation Committees. Graves, a former Missouri State Representative and Senator, is in his fourth term since being elected the the U.S. House in 2000. Graves also supported the economic stimulus package signed by President Bush. Graves commented Wednesday on the business incentives included in the package. “We want to make it easier for small businesses to expand and create jobs,” said Graves. “Seven out of every 10 jobs created in this country are because of small businesses.” Read more…
