Andrew Breitbart, Dana Loesch and Mike Flynn dropped by Media Matters looking for their 990 forms. Form 990 is an annual reporting return that certain federally tax-exempt organizations must file with the IRS. It provides information on the filing organization’s mission, programs, and finances. Most federally tax-exempt organizations, with the exception of churches and state institutions and all 501(c)(3) private foundations, regardless of income are required to file. Many critics of Media Matters feel they are nothing but a subsidiary of the Democrat Party and should not be granted tax exempt status.
