No bid contracts in the Dooley Administration? SAY IT AIN’T SO!!!!

Martin contends that the county council has excluded all non-union labor from consideration in awarding project labor agreements. Since, as Martin maintains, the majority of the construction industry is non-union, the field is severely diminished and therefore also diminishes the opportunity for tax dollars to be spent effectively by hiring the most competitive contractors, which an open bidding process would bring.
In a letter, sent to the county executive on Aug. 24, Martin also explains the importance of maintaining jobs, and how detrimental no-bid contracts have been, in the past, to the local economy. Read more…
