Trial attorneys, intricate members of the so called party of ‘tolerance,’ haven’t been exhibiting a lot of tolerance lately if you read an affidavit filed by a ShowMeBetter Courts signature gather. The African American man from St. Louis claims he was called several racial slurs by so called “blockers” allegedly hired by Missouri for Fair and Impartial Courts Action Fund – a group controlled by the trial attorneys. Here’s an excerpt from the affidavit:

“Over the last several days, I have been harassed by employees, agents or servants of Missouri for Fair and Impartial Courts Action Fund. This harassment has included assaults and physical battery upon myself and others. Most recently I was assaulted and battered as I was gathering signatures and called racial slurs such as monkey and nigger on April 12, 2010.” Read more…

James Harris, director of ShowMeBetterCourts issued this statement:

“We have received numerous reports of petition blockers yelling obscenities and racial slurs at our petitioners, using intimidation and hatred to discourage citizens from exercising their right to participate in the petition process. Using racism and intimidation to keep people from having their voices heard is unacceptable.

I call on Chip Robertson, the treasurer of Missourians for Fair and Impartial Courts Action Fund – the group that hired these blockers – to put an end to this intimidation and engage in a civil dialogue about our courts. The people of Missouri want to have their voices heard – we need to let it happen without maliciousness or hatred.”
