Sowers in New York City with the Dalai Lama during a recent fundraising trip
Tommy Sowers, the Rolla Democrat who is challenging Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson in Missouri’s Eighth District, filed the paperwork for his candidacy well over a month ago but has not yet filed his personal financial disclosure. This is very strange, as a personal financial disclosure is a routine form and is usually among the first things a candidate will file.
Why won’t Sowers file his personal paperwork? Is he hiding something? Or is he just overwhelmingly forgetful?
This kind of ethical oversight does not bode well for the future of Sowers’ campaign. If he won’t share the minuscule amount of personal information required on a PFD, whether purposefully or accidentally, how can anyone trust him to be an effective and honest legislator?

He’s too sleazy to be a lawyer. I think he’s a Sikh, or at least he loves them. What a taxpayer funded trip to India to see the Dalai Lama! As he admits, it was a boondoggle.
