National Democrats are working non-stop to bolster the campaign of their loyal “Rubberstamp Russ” Carnahan.

This summer, when Carnahan was confronted with strident opposition to his dependably liberal voting record and support for a government takeover of health care, the Democratic National Committee sent out a desperate plea for help, urging Democrats to attend Carnahan’s townhall forum and even providing a ready-made “flyer to display.”

Now, they are pulling out all the stops, sending Nancy Pelosi to Missouri to raise money for Carnahan, her most loyal of followers.

Just how loyal? According to Congressional Quarterly, Carnahan has acted as a true rubberstamp, voting with Nancy Pelosi 99% of the time.

“Russ Carnahan has blindly followed Nancy Pelosi—voting with her 99% of the time. Now, she is repaying the favor by hosting a glitzy fundraiser in his honor,” said Lloyd Smith, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party.

“Democrats are desperate to save Carnahan, because he is an automatic vote for every liberal scheme they can devise.
