MOPNS Forces Resignation of STL County’s Lobbyist; Denies Dooley Forced Him Out

We apologize to our readers that we once again have to do the media’s job for them. We reported to you last week (a story we’ve been holding for a year and half) on how intergovernmental affairs director Darin Cline was running a political consulting business while on your County payroll.

There’s a familiar pattern emerging here with the media whenever we break a story before them. Instead of just giving a lowly blog the credit, they write that “persistent rumors” have been dogging the subject of our posts. We were the first to report that Judge Ronnie White was resigning from the Missouri Supreme Court. We were the first to report that Kit Bond was not running for reelection. We were the first to report that Jeff Smith was resigning. And we were the first to bring you this story of Darin Cline’s double dipping.

Editors and reporters have claimed that the reason they don’t cite the Missouri Political News Service is because we are an “anonymous blog.” We could maybe buy that explanation if the anonymous FiredUp Missouri wasn’t constantly quoted by these media hypocrites. C’est le vie! Our loyal readers and Missouri’s political junkies know where to go first for their news!
