The anti-war freaks over at Code Pink are claiming that the Reverend Congressman made this incredible statement after being urged by them to support a troop withdrawal from Afghanistan:
“Did you know that President Obama is more popular than Jesus Christ? I didn’t like this bill, but I voted for it. It’s hard to stand up to such a popular president.”
Well, it being Code Pink, I wouldn’t automatically believe anything they said, just ’cause they said it – on the other hand, if Brother Em DID say that to them, it was a cowardly excuse to give them – not to mention, potentially catastrophic, considering he’s a minister.
