While the St. Louis Post Dispatch was reporting the “stop the presses” news last Friday that Attorney General Chris Koster had finally hired a press secretary, the money laundering activities of Koster and his consigliere FOJ (Friend of Jay) Chuck Hatfield during last year’s campaign again go unnoticed.

You would think that a story revealing that state Democrats have been audited, fined or questioned by the FEC in six consecutive election cycles, would at least warrant a sentence or two on Koster and Hatfield’s nefarious scheme. Always doing the media’s job, we posted links to two previous stories we did on the scheme. We also want to give a hat tip to Randy Turner of The Turner Report who has also been following this story very closely.

The Economic Growth Council, a committee that laundered campaign contributions in Democrat Chris Koster’s successful campaign for attorney general, has ceased operations, according to a termination statement filed March 12 with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

The Council, which had Koster friend and former Jay Nixon aide Chuck Hatfield as treasurer, cleared its bank account by giving a $5,000 contribution to Koster on Dec. 19, and contributions of $2,334.45 and $800.10 to the Missouri Democratic Party on the same day.
