The Affton Alumni Association will induct nine new members into its Hall of Fame. The elite inductees have served in positions across the globe and range from a nurse and an entertainer to a state representative and a police sergeant,
The new members will be ushered into the association’s Hall of Fame at 5:30 p.m., March 7 at the Sunset Hills Country Club, 9555 S. Geyer Road.
Sherman Parker, class of 1990, will be inducted posthumously. He was elected to the state Legislature in 2002 and represented the 12th District in the Missouri House of Representatives until 2006. After an unsuccessful run at a spot in the U.S. Congress, Parker focused his efforts on incorporating more African Americans into the Republican party. Read more…
