According to a quote in Post Dispatch columnist Sylvester Brown’s column today, if St. Louis wants to enjoy any benfits from our next door neighbor senator becoming president, St. Louis leaders will probably have to engage with the sleazy, machine style politicos of Chicago and Illinois in general”
“The Slay supporter (who wants to remain anonymous) also was active in Obama’s campaign. He, too, predicts a power shift but the one he mentioned travels from Illinois (Obama’s senatorial territory) to the White House. If there’s any chance of St. Louis’ urban core benefitting from Obama’s economic initiatives, the city will have to develop agendas with Illinois politicians, the political insider said.”

Sleaze doesn’t work in St. Louis. St. Louis has tried it, and the whole city, with few exceptions, is a dirty disgrace. It needs new leadership, not the same sleazy leadership. Obama can snub St. Louis and still win the city in 2012. It’s not hard to figure out.
