One of the first names on the press release announcing Jay Nixon’s transition advisors is Jim Bergfalk. Bergfalk is well know and active in the Kansas City area. He owns a consulting and lobbying firm with Democratic Jackson County Legislator Scott Burnett. But Bergfalk is an odd choice to help lead a Missouri transition team. You see, he lives in Kansas.
Not only does Bergfalk live in Mission, Kansas according to several research sources, he is a member of the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission’s Kansas Lottery Gaming Facilities Review Board.
Nixon’s press release says he was standing with advisors “from across Missouri” and from “every region of Missouri.” Did Jay Nixon know that a prominent member of his transition team was not a resident of Missouri? Read more…
