Missourians shouldn’t be surprised that media hound Jay Nixon wasn’t jumping on the condemnation bandwagon after Blago The Terrible’s misdeeds were exposed to the fine people of the state of Illinois and the rest of the nation yesterday.
The Washington Post reports today that an official with the Service Employees International Union was acting as an intermediary between Blago The Terrible and Barack Obama over Obama’s Senate seat.
The SEIU’s involvement in this pay-to-play scheme begs one simply question of our very own Jay Nixon: After accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in SEIU cash, will he reinstate One Term Bob’s disastrous collective bargaining executive order in a similar pay-to-play scenario Blago the Terrible was involoved in?
Consider the following: The SEIU’s Washington hub union gave Nixon $150K in October and $200K to the Missouri Democratic Party in July. And let’s not forget that $450K advertising buy to promote Nixon and the $100K in separate donations to Nixon and the MDP from the SEIU’s state council here in Missouri.
Clearly, the SEIU knows how to work the pay-for-play game that netted Blago The Terrible. The question now is whether SEIU’s charms will also ensnare Missouri’s own Jay The Quiet.
Til Next Time
