Hybrid Battery Amendment – Bond’s amendment would help America use less oil by aggressively promoting advanced vehicle batteries for hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. The Bond amendment would drive down the price of advanced vehicle batteries and hybrid vehicles by providing $100 million per year for research and development, $250 million per year to improve U.S. manufacturing equipment and process capabilities, and $750 million per year to reequip, expand or establish U.S. domestic manufacturing facilities for advanced vehicle batteries.
