Tipline: Storch/Roberts, Hubbard/Johnson/Wright-Jones Races

Coffee shop talk is that the P-D is exactly right. Obama-Clinton rivalry is at the heart of the Storch-Roberts race.

Storch needs to start looking for another job, because Roberts will be able to raise more money than she can, and the Democratic heavy hitters (Carnahan, Nixon, et al.) are not going to go too far out on a limb to oppose a very wealthy (African American) candidate with many connections . . . who may end up winning whether they support Storch or not.

Rep. Connie Johnson is not a real candidate in this race. Everyone around the Capitol knows that Johnson – an attorney – has been angling for months for a judgeship appointment. She’s hoping that Rep. Hubbard’s close ties with Speaker Jetton and the Republicans, will be persuasive in securing an appointment from Governor Blunt.

Unfortunately, you need to check your facts about judgeships and appointments. Representative Johnson has not been angling for a judgeship or appointment, she has actually been heavily considering the race for the Senate. Representative Johnson is not only a real candidate, but she is the best candidate. She has filed more bills, passed more bills and has the best legislative record of any of the three candidates.

Why don’t you spend your time participating in arranging debates instead of putting out false facts.

Some might say the early bird gets the worm, but we’ll see on this one.
