Judicial Reform Opponents are Smart

March 17th, 2008 by mopns · No Comments

Here is a sampling of the mail being sent by attorneys who oppose reform of the Missouri Plan. “Grow the balls,” “go to hell” and “sorehead” are just a few of the slurs being thrown around by these apparently inarticulate attorneys. We guess if our potential million dollar judgements were in jeopardy, we’d be a little irritated too.

One wonders if their employers have any idea these attorneys are putting such juvenile sentences in an e-mail and hitting the “send” button.

“Go to hell and read John Grisham’s The Appeal” on your way.” Pat Berrigan (Walters & Dameron)

“Grow the balls to list a real name and street address to your
mailout.”
Ronald G. Wiesenthal (St. Louis Mediation Center)

“I came away disappointed with no further idea as to who you are, other than a sorehead who has issues with the courts.” Harlan Burkhead (Lathrop & Gage)

Oh, these guys are too much. I love it when a guy that works in mediation tells anyone else to grow some balls. Seriously.

I just can’t get over these guys- I have to post again. I am certainly not a big powerful law partner, or a “trial lawyer,” and I am not even smart enough to figure out why it is necessary for the Better Courts group to read “The Appeal” on their way to hell as opposed to any other Grisham work, BUT I did do a google search and had to look to the fourth hit before I found what ol’ Harlan so desired. I’m guessing that that $300+ an hour you bill isn’t for your intuitve research ability, Harlan.
