Former State Representative Sherman Parker will be one of five panelists who will share their views on race and politics at a Cultural Leadership event scheduled for Sunday. The November 4th event – moderated by Dave Drebes from the Arch City Chronicle and MOScout.com – will be held at 3:00 pm at the Central Reform Congregation (located in the West End at 5020 Waterman Blvd.)
First elected in 2002 and re-elected in 2004, Parker is noted for being the first African American voted to the Legislature from St. Charles County. This past summer, Rep. Parker was named Chair of a brand new Missouri GOP Auxiliary called Missouri Spectrum PAC. Missouri Spectrum is the Missouri GOP’s first African American Auxiliary organization. The other noted panelists include:
* Hon. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, State Representative (71st district)
* Shamed Dogan, Candidate for State Representative (88th district)
* Hon. Sherman Parker, former State Representative (12th district)
* Sen. Jeff Smith, State Senator (4th district)
* Hon. Jake Zimmerman, State Representative (83rd district)
