Jay Nixon has been having a rough couple of weeks on the campaign trail. We learned this week – that after a healthy lead in previous polls – he now trails Blunt in this Rasmussen poll. We guess his “cargate” scandal and advocacy for illegal immigration isn’t sitting too well with Missouri’s voters. Well, at least he has his buddies over at the Post Dispatch and FiredUp Missouri to defend and console him:

“The latest solace republicans have been giving to each other in their vain attempt to feel better that Blunt is still below 45% in the polls is to tell themselves that Blunt will use the upcoming session to highlight how Nixon is wrong.
