Every election cycle one political staffer gets himself/herself in hot water over something he/she has said or done. The advent of high ego websites like Facebook, Xanga and My Space has made it easier to track such mistakes.

Jay Nixon staffer Craig VanLeeuwen may be just the latest example. VanLeeuwen, who showed up frequently on Nixon’s ethics reports as a payroll expense, has quite an interesting past. According to The Miami Student, a publication at Miami University in Ohio, VanLeeuwen was arrested in September of 2006 for “public intoxication and disorderly conduct.” It seems VanLeeuwen was intoxicated one evening and passed out in a church’s playground.
