U.S. Sen. Christopher “Kit” Bond flew into Farmington Saturday to take a look at road projects along U.S. 67.
Bond landed at the city’s airport, then hopped into a Southeast Missouri Transportation Service (SMTS) van with a group that included city officials from Farmington, Park Hills, Desloge and Bonne Terre; two members of the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT); a representative from U.S. Rep. JoAnn Emerson’s office; SMTS director and three members of the local media.
“Tom (Schulte, who works for Bond) has been telling me about the progress, but this is my first opportunity to come see what’s going on,” Bond said during the van ride from Farmington to Bonne Terre. “We’ve been talking about this (project) for a long time.” Read more…
