From the Political Eye:
“Nixon will address the Unity PAC at their weekly breakfast club meeting, Saturday, June 16 at 10 a.m. at the Down Home Elegance Restaurant, 10832 Bellefontaine Rd, just east of highway 270. Unity PAC members host a weekly breakfast at the Down Home Elegance Restaurant where they exchange political and public policy information, and keep abreast of developing events as they unfold, as they enjoy the camaraderie and company of their comrades. Members of the public are welcome to attend.”
The St. Louis American Political Eye column – which usually has no love loss for African American Republicans – failed to mention that Republicrat, concrete entrepreneur Tim Person – is a founding member of UNITY PAC. Does the “Eye’s” omission mean Person’s a Democrat once again?
UNITY PAC was formed by Person and former Democrat state rep and attorney Elbert Walton to “drive the white establishment out of North County,” says a source close to the organization.
In certain northern municipalities in St. Louis County, the African American populations are over 90%, but the school boards, police departments, and fire protection boards remain overwhelmingly or completely white.
“We figured since Tim Person plays both sides of the political fence so well, having worked for both Freeman Bosley (former St. Louis Democrat mayor) and Bob Holden, and then switching up and working for the Republicans, he’d be a perfect compliment to what we’re trying to accomplish.”
Another well placed source has told the Missouri Political News Service that Mr. Person is currently consulting for the Nixon gubernatorial campaign. MOPNS will continue to investigate.
