In a speech to the Heritage Group in St. Joseph last week, former Kansas City Mayor, Kay Barnes spoke of the progress recently made in downtown St. Joseph. When discussing the need for planning in redevelopment, Barnes specifically mentioned the Heartland Regional Medical center demolition, and how great that project was for the city. Barnes’ praise was especially kind since it was her opponent, Congressman Sam Graves, who was instrumental in moving the project forward. Read more…
