Weeks into piloting his own craft, a 10-year-old Toyota Corolla, as mayor, Funkhouser says he has suffered no indignities.

Plus taxpayers no longer have to ante up for former Mayor Kay Barnes’ limo posse to accompany her to places like the lounge at the InterContinental on the Plaza. Not only is Funk’s Corolla travel allowance $100 a month less than the Lincoln Town Car, it costs $160,000 less a year to staff.

We love when any politician practices a little restraint, especially after the tenure of Queen Kay. But there’s a difference between restraint and a 10 year old Corolla, sheesh.
