The Irregular Times – which describes itself as “One of the oldest and most potently independent progressive political websites in existence” – has released it “progressive legislative score” rankings for the six new Democratic senators elected last year. The rankings range from a high of 58 to a low of 17. A score of 100 is “perfectly progressive” while a “0” score means “perfectly unprogressive”.
We assume that the Irregular Times is based in California – most likely San Francisco – when they only give Comrade Sherrod Brown of Ohio a 58, and an even lower rating to our Senator McCaskill. McCaskill supposedly only supported 33% of a “slate of progressive policies in the 110th Congress.” She did rate a “0” on supporting a slate of “conservative, wrongheaded policies in the 110th Congress” though.
IR was particularly pleased with her “progressive” co-sponsorship of a bill to allow federal funding for Stem Cell research:
Senator Claire McCaskill has done the right thing in cosponsoring S.5, a bill that would permit federal funding to be used for research on lines of stem cells taken from a handful of blastocysts: non-thinking, non-breathing, blastocysts with thirty undifferentiated inner mass cells. These are just a handful of blastocysts out of the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of abandoned blastocysts that will never be implanted in a uterus and are currently slated to be simply thrown in the trash.

No, we’re not based in San Francisco, or anywhere else in California. Guess again.
Why do you call Sherrod Brown “Comrade”? Is this some kind of right wing code for a political moderate?

Riiight. Let’s see. If you live in any one of 26 states, you are automatically living in La-La land. Your ad hominem idiocy would be amusing if it weren’t so fucking pathetic.
