More Dooley Cronyism in St. Louis County?

Quote of the Day: Former Temporiti Trash Client “Becoming Closer and Closer to a Monopoly All the Time”

If the cronyism going on in St. Louis County Executive Dooley’s office wasn’t so sad, it would be hilarious fodder for Ripley’s Believe it or Not!

First, the day after Dooley’s re-election mind you, St. Louis County taxpayers learned that the taxes on their homes was going up. Next, we learned that Dooley consiglieri John Temporiti’s son was awarded a no bid, $70,000 a year job that was created just for him – during a three year hiring freeze!

And this week, we learn that arguably the worst spokesperson to ever work on a campaign, was rewarded for her services with a nice cushy $88,000 year job in county government. And to cap the week off, another crony – county counselor Patricia Reddington – has delayed for 19 months the trial of two SEIU thugs who beat up an African American trying to make an honest dollar outside of a Russ Carnahan town hall meeting a couple of summers ago:

In November of 2009, St. Louis County Counselor Patricia Reddington issued misdemeanor assault charges against two SEIU members, Elston McCowan of St. Louis and Perry Molens of De Soto.   The men pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial.Gladney believes the case was put on the back burner because 2010 was an election year.“I don’t think they really want this to go to trial,” Gladney said, “I think Patricia Reddington and all of those guys, they want this to go away, because I believe it goes a little further up to Charles Dooley.   He didn’t want any backlash during the election.”Gladney also wonders if the politically influential SEIU may have something to do with the delay.

“I think honestly, Charles Dooley and Patricia Reddington, they have a big stake in this when it comes to the union,” Gladney said, “They are go-getters for the union.” Read more…
