Republican governor candidate Bill Randles called out Missouri’s lap dog media yesterday on their coddling of Governor Nixon. Instead of focusing on “Play to Pay Jay” and his Centene Medicaid scandal, they’d rather focus on Dave Spence’s connection to attorney and convicted money launderer Dave Griesedieck and the fact that Spence’s campaign forgot to display their campaign treasurer’s name on their latest commercial.

 Excerpt from Randles press release:

“It is important for Missourians to know the character of those in office, as well as those seeking office,” Randles said. “Jay Nixon has clearly shown that his character is one that can be bought by the highest bidder. Besides being bad policy for Missouri, it is also highly illegal.”

The Saint Louis Post-Dispatch and Kansas City Star have published articles regarding Nixon’s connections to the questionable awarding of a Medicaid contract to Centene Corp. Prior to receiving the contract, Nixon had been the recipient of generous contributions from Centene and those affiliated with the company. Centene is also the controlling entity of recently embattled SynCare, which was involved in controversy last year.

“As I said earlier this month, there is little difference between what Jay Nixon continues to do, and why Rod Blagojevich is sitting in prison,” Randles said. “The Post-Dispatch rightfully alluded to this sentiment in their editorial, pointing out that Blagojevich engaged in the exact same activity regarding Illinois’ Medicaid contracts when he was still governor.”
