On Chad Livengood’s Political Notebook a few days ago, he provided us some memorable quotes from this year from a few of Missouri’s politicians. They were good. But how could he have missed these gems that consistently come from Congressman Cleaver’s lips like…

“If there is repression in Cuba we didn’t see it.”

And…

“Did you know that President Obama is more popular than Jesus Christ? I didn’t like this bill, but I voted for it. It’s hard to stand up to such a popular president.”

But our all time favorite quote (so far) is this beauty…

“The people we represent can feel comfortable with what we have included in this package. Regardless of party, we all cast our votes with one hand and crossed our fingers with the other.”
