Post Dispatch Puts “A little Skin in the Game”

June 23rd, 2009 by mopns · No Comments

President Obama said during the campaign that we’re all going to have to put “a little skin the game” in regards to correcting our economic ship. Translation: hold on to your wallet because were all going to be paying more in taxes. Being in a congratulatory mood today, we congratulate the Post Dispatch for putting “a little skin in the game” by endorsing the president’s massive cap and tax trade climate bill.

Strange that a newspaper – whose parent company is not in the best financial position – would endorse a plan that would raise their costs while the company is bleeding money. Looks like somebody sees the handwriting on the wall. From STL Post Dispatch Political Editor Christopher Ave’s Facebook page:

Love Italian food? Appreciate acoustic music?

Then please join me at my first-ever St. Louis music gig at 8 p.m. Friday at Giancarlo’s Bar & Restaurant! The food is authentic — it’s cooked by a 91-year-old woman from Sicily — and the bar is stocked.

I’ll be playing an oddball collection of acoustic pop, rock and folk, including a few originals. So come on by.

See you there!

Christopher

Thanks for the mention. Quite a leap from cap-and-trade policy to a humble restaurant gig, but … whatever!
