“Mad Dog” & “Political Animal” Roy Temple’s New Firm FINALLY Admits They Hired Him

January 7th, 2009 by mopns · 1 Comment

Does anyone else find it strange that the Missouri Political News Service was the first source (still no mention on FiredUp) to reveal that “Political Animal” and “Mad Dog” Roy Temple was terminated  left a firm where he was a partner, and that he had recently joined another D.C. lobbying firm. Here is what we wrote last week regarding Roy’s sudden departure:

“Our sources confirm that Temple was relieved of his duties as a partner after losing the Kay Barnes race, [”Temple and I (Steve Glorioso) can handle Roe”] the Gaw primary and “other poor performances” this past November. Read more…

I guess Temple and his new firm needed to huddle together and get the story corrrect. Here’s the spin they sent to Congress Daily:

POLITICAL ANIMAL. Lobbying and consulting firm Cassidy & Associates is bringing in Roy Temple as a senior vice president. According to an e-mail provided by the firm, Temple will lead a new practice area “with a distinct political angle.”

Temple is certainly a political animal, having served as political director for the late Gov. Mel Carnahan’s first gubernatorial race and campaign manager for his 1996 re-election campaign. Temple, who worked in the governor’s office, later served as chief of staff for Carnahan’s wife, former Sen. Jean Carnahan, D-Mo. More recently, Temple has been working on Senate races at the Feldman Group Democratic polling firm. He most recently helped Al Franken’s Minnesota Senate bid.”

Good luck Roy!

The funny thing about this is that Gregg Hartley, Roy Blunt’s former chief-of-staff is the President of Cassidy.

I’d say Nixon’s little e-mail stunt against Matt Blunt is about to run its course.

Roy Temple is now a member of the Blunt family!

    Who’d a thunk it??
