Thanks, But No Thanks?

The respected Roll Call newspaper has speculation today on possible cabinet picks for a future McCain presidency. Our own Jim Talent - who’s been pretty prominent this election season - was mentioned for a possible cabinet position. Were you thinking secretary of defense since Sen. Talent was a member of the Armed Services committee? Yeah, we didn’t either, that will probably go to a bigger name. Maybe Secretary of Labor since Mr. Talent is a labor attorney by trade? Didn’t think of that one either? Well here’s where Roll Call believes Mr. Talent could use his talents in a new administration:

“Secretary of Health and Human Services. Meanwhile, former Sen. Jim Talent (Mo.) was active on health care issues, not just in the Senate but also in the House and the Missouri Legislature.” Read more…

A word of advice Senator, don’t quit your day job(s), you’re making way too much money in the private sector for a second tier cabinet position.
