Rep. Jim Guest: “D.C. or Bust!”

June 30th, 2008 by jjjameson · No Comments

The Missouri Political News Service obtained the following email sent out by 5th district Republican Representative Jim Guest. Guest, an ardent supporter of Congressman Ron Paul, blasted out the email over the weekend to supporters begging for money so he can travel to a rally in Washington D.C next month to oppose Homeland Security Information Hubs in the states. Interesting tactic guest employs in the email; show your sense of urgency by sending out an email full of run on sentences, lack of punctuation, and misspelled words:

Hello everyone,

I need your help to raise the money I need to get to Washington DC for the Rally on the 12th and to help get Missouri Legislators to stop the Homeland Security Information Hub from staying in Missouri OR ANY STATE! I need funds fast Please help how ever you can.

The last 2 years I have asked for help to stop the attacks on Missouri Freedoms. Most of you were busy with Dr. Paul as I was also. We are at the crossroads of our states liberties complete removal and if we do not stop it now you will not get them back easy.

Please help me to stop them…How ever you can

Rep. Jim Guest

Our tipster suggested that maybe Rep. Guest was soliciting the money to take along his former mistress/current chief of staff. Guest divorced his wife to marry his chief of staff. Rep. Guest is also the organizer of “LARI,” Legislators against the REAL ID. Guest claims The REAL ID ACT is a federal program to “force all Americans’ to carry a national ID card.” In actually, it is a program that requires states to implement safeguards in their ID’s to thwart counterfeiting.
