St. Louis Carpenters Endorse Another Republican (Sort of)

May 29th, 2008 by MOPNS · No Comments

The Carpenters District Council of Greater St. Louis, which has a history of splitting party lines with its endorsements, endorsed Sen. Chris Koster today in his bid for the Democrat nomination for attorney general.

A few of the Carpenters party splitting endorsements of the past have included endorsements for Sarah Steelman for re-election as state treasurer; former Rep. Sherman Parker’s ill timed bid against Congressman Todd Akin in 2006; and St. Louis County Councilman John Campisi’s successful bid against a Democrat incumbent in 2000. The Carpenters support, in effect, gave control of the council to a Republican majority for the first time in years.
