With lazy “reporters” like Jo Mannies stealing stories and providing us with crack reporting like this, we’re frankly surprised the St. Louis Post Dispatch numbers aren’t worse.

Lee Enterprises Inc. reported Monday that its July advertising revenue fell 2.1 percent on weak real estate and automotive advertising.

Company officials said that Lee’s same property online advertising revenue increased 62.5 percent in July, while total same property operating revenue for the month declined 2.1 percent.

Combined print and online classified advertising revenue decreased 4.4 percent, with employment up 3.6 percent for the month, automotive down 12.3 percent for the month, and real estate down 9.3 percent for the month, according to a release.

Lee said that its circulation revenue dropped 3.3 percent for the month.
